DHTI+ Certification

Overview

This course prepares students for the CEA-CompTIA DHTI+ certfication exam, which validates the knowledge and skills of home technology professionals. It is an international, vendor-neutral certification that recognizes a technician's ability to configure, integrate, maintain, troubleshoot, and comprehend the basic design concepts of electronic and digital home systems.

About CEA-CompTIA DHTI+™

In 2001, CompTIA partnered with the InternetHomeAlliance, a non-profit, home technology group, to develop CompTIA HTI+. The certification addressed the lack of standards available to measure the competency of technical installers in the automated home industry. By 2006, the home industry faced new challenges, and CompTIA HTI+ needed to evolve to remain the benchmark certification for home technology integrators.

CompTIA worked with the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) to develop the CEA-CompTIA DHTI+ certification. Combining CEA’s market expertise and CompTIA’s certification development expertise gave the industry an effective way to validate the skills of home network integrators.

CEA-CompTIA DHTI+ is the first credential that certifies the necessary knowledge to work with electronic and digital home systems. CEA-CompTIA DHTI+ ensures that technology integrators, security system technicians, cable, satellite, telecommunications and A/V installers, electricians and network administrators have the right skills to complete the job.
